Sunny beach is situated on semi round open bay to the east which is 8 km long and 30 to 60 m wide, has pure golden sand and natural dunes. The water is clear and the sea is calm and safe. There are about 1700 sunny hours here from May till September with mid temp about 27 C.
Nesebar is located on a little island which is connected with the land with an isthmus, 400m long. It’s one of the oldest towns in Europe and the richest in architectural monuments from the Middle Ages in Bulgaria. Nesebar is an inheritor of the ancient Thracian village of Messambria, founded in the 2nd millennium B.C. its name means town /bria/ of Melsa.
In 1956 the town was announced to be architectural and archaeological reserve. The remains of the ancient fortified wall with a gate from 3-4 century, the Nesebar churches from 5-6 century and from the Middle Ages /fine arts of the ancient Bulgarian-Byzantine architecture/, 60 houses from the Bulgarian national revival period- all these contribute to the unique appearance and the special atmosphere of the town. The old part of Nesebar is a cultural monument included in the list of UNESCO.
